How Can I Check My Outdoor Speakers?

With Memorial Day just around the corner, many of our clients are using their outdoor speakers for the 1sttime this season. Our office has already scheduled 3 service calls for outdoor speakers. Before you incur the expenses of a service call, there are a couple of things you can try. First, check the wire connections at the speakers. Be sure the connections are good and haven’t been chewed by animals. If the connections are good, confirm that the outdoor amplifier is plugged in and getting power. If the amp is getting power, there are a couple things you can still check. If you have a Boselink system, replace the batteries in the remote and try again. If you have a Bose Soundtouch streamin

Will Upgrading My older Bose Speakers Improve the Sound Quality in My Music Zones?

We recently had a call from a past client that wanted to improve the sound in their music zones and questioned whether they could upgrade their existing Bose speakers. If your existing Bose speakers are over 10 years old, the answer is yes. If you have the in-wall/in ceiling Bose 191 speakers, the premium in-ceiling replacement speaker is Model 791; for in-wall applications, the premium replacement speaker is the Model 891. Both of these speakers sell for $599 a pair. For outdoor speakers, if you have the older Model 151 speakers, the premium replacement speaker is the Model 251. The 251 speakers sell for $398.95 per pair. To get the best performance from these premium speakers, be sure you

Outside antennas will always provide better reception. A good outdoor antenna will run between $50 and $100 before installation. A good indoor antenna wil

Many clients have purchased new electronics such as Apple TV, Roku, or 4K DVD players and can’t connect these new devices to their older Bose systems. The issue is most of these new components including new cable or satellite boxes, only have HDMI outputs and older Bose systems have no HDMI inputs. There is a possible work around to solve this problem. First check and see if your TV has enough HDMI inputs to connect your new components directly to your TV. Next, confirm that your TV has an audio output that is compatible with the Bose console input. Depending on the age of your Bose system, you will need either an analog (red & white) or digital output from your TV. If the answer is yes to

How Can I Mount a Soundbar to a Motion TV bracket?

Many homes are designed today with Great Rooms that open to the Kitchen. Because of this, many clients are using motion TV brackets, either swing or articulating arms, that allows the TV to be directed towards multiple viewing areas. Using motion TV brackets with Soundbars usually creates an audio problem; the TV is directed towards the viewer but the sound remains stationary. A British company, SoundXtra has solved this problem. They are now offering a bracket that fastens directly to the motion bracket and mounts the Soundbar below the TV. This allows the sound to be directed to the viewer no matter what the direction of the TV. This simple solution will greatly improve your viewing exper
