What Happens After May 6, 2026?
Once Bose ends SoundTouch support, several key features will stop working.

Music Streaming Will Stop
You will no longer be able to stream music through the SoundTouch app, including services like Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music, and internet radio.

Whole-Home Music Will No Longer Work
The ability to group multiple SoundTouch speakers together for synchronized music throughout your home will no longer function.

Presets and App Control Will Stop
SoundTouch presets, browsing music services, and system control through the app will no longer be supported.

Bluetooth Will Still Work (With Limits)
Some SoundTouch products include Bluetooth, which will still function. However:
• It works with only one speaker at a time
• Your phone or tablet must stay within short range
• Whole-home music is not possible with Bluetooth

TV Sound Will Continue to Work
Bose Lifestyle home theater systems and soundbars will continue to operate normally for TV audio.

The Good News: Many Bose Systems Can Be Upgraded
Many existing Bose systems can be upgraded to Sonos without rewiring your home.
Your existing speakers can often remain in place while the older Bose electronics are replaced with modern Sonos streaming amplifiers and soundbars.
This means you keep the speakers already installed in your ceilings, walls, and outdoor areas while gaining a much better music platform.

Why Many Homeowners Are Switching to Sonos
Sonos has become the most popular whole-home audio platform for several reasons:

Modern Streaming
Access all major music services including:
Spotify
Apple Music
Amazon Music
Pandora
SiriusXM
Thousands of internet radio stations

Simple App Control
The Sonos app allows you to control music in every room of your home from your phone or tablet.

True Whole-Home Music
Play different music in different rooms or the same music everywhere.

Exceptional Sound Quality
Sonos is designed for high-quality audio performance and works beautifully with existing installed speakers.

Reliable Connectivity
Unlike many older systems, Sonos is designed for stable, reliable streaming across your home network.
