What Are the Mounting Options for a Sonos Amplifier?

Sonos amplifiers are sleek and attractive enough to be placed on an open shelf or inside a cabinet. However, when we’re upgrading an existing system especially from older Bose systems, the amplifier location is often determined by where the current equipment is installed.

Keeping the new Sonos amplifier in the same location allows us to reuse the existing speaker wiring, which simplifies installation and helps control costs.

In many homes, older amplifiers are located in a basement, utility room, or equipment closet. In these situations, particularly when multiple amplifiers are involved, wall mounting or rack mounting are often the best solutions.

Wall Mount Option

For wall installations, a dedicated wall-mount bracket is required for each Sonos amplifier. This keeps the installation clean, organized, and secure.

Rack Mount Option

If you’re using an equipment rack:

• Two Sonos amplifiers can fit on a standard rack shelf.

• There are also custom rack-mount kits designed specifically for Sonos amplifiers.

• Each rack-mount kit typically accommodates two Sonos amplifiers for a professional, streamlined setup.

The Bottom Line

Whether placed on a shelf, mounted on a wall, or installed in a rack, Sonos amplifiers offer flexible mounting options to suit your home and equipment layout.

If you’re planning a Sonos upgrade and want help determining the best mounting solution, we’re happy to assist.
