For the past several months, we’ve been writing about the end of life for Bose SoundTouch products and how it will impact your system. Well, the time has arrived.
Bose SoundTouch support is scheduled to end on May 6. Once support ends, you will no longer be able to stream music through the SoundTouch app. Depending on your specific product, you may still be able to use Bluetooth with an individual speaker or Apple AirPlay on select devices.
Most importantly, security updates will also end. Without these updates, SoundTouch devices may become less reliable over time and could be exposed to future network risks.
While many of our clients have already upgraded to Sonos, we expect a significant increase in service calls once the app stops working, often from clients thinking their equipment has failed, when in reality it’s due to the SoundTouch platform reaching end of life.
It’s important to note that this change does not impact your Bose home theater system for TV audio. The end of life only affects music streaming through SoundTouch.
If music is important to you, we recommend calling now to review your upgrade options and avoid interruptions.
