Can I Connect My Turntable to My Soundbar?

Writer: Craig WhitakerCraig Whitaker

With everyone staying home, it seems many of our clients are getting to their often-delayed projects. Yesterday we had an interesting call from a client wanting to connect her turntable to her Bose Soundbar 300. Note this solution will work with any type of Soundbar. On the surface it appears that’s not possible since the Soundbar has no inputs. However, if your TV has available RCA audio inputs (red &white), you can connect any analog device, either turntable, or CD player, to your TV. Then when you want to listen to these devices, use your TV remote to switch to the appropriate TV input the analog device. Be aware if you are connecting a new turntable, the turntable needs to be switched to line level output. If you are connecting an older turntable, a line level transformer is required.
