A client called this week and asked if his Sonos app could control a non-Sonos speaker that he was given. The answer is no. The Sonos app is specifically designed to control Sonos wireless speakers and other Sonos products such as Sonos Soundbars and amplifiers. The Sonos app provides a user-friendly interface to manage and control Sonos devices, including adjusting volume, selecting audio sources, creating playlists, and grouping speakers for synchronized playback. The Sonos app is not intended to control other brands or models of wireless speakers that are not part of the Sonos ecosystem. Each speaker brand typically has its own dedicated app or control method for managing its wireless speakers.
