Can I Add to My Old Bose SoundTouch System?

This week, a client called asking if they could expand their existing Bose SoundTouch system after adding onto their home. Unfortunately, the answer was no—Bose no longer manufactures or supports SoundTouch products.
That leaves only two options:
Buy used SoundTouch components on resale sites like eBay.
Upgrade to a new audio system.
While buying used gear might seem like a quick fix, we caution against it. Older products may fail, there are no repair options available, and most companies—including Whitaker Brothers—do not install third-party used equipment.
It’s also important to note that Bose’s newer line of streaming products, called Bose Music, is not compatible with the older SoundTouch platform. This means you cannot mix and match the two systems.
If you’re still running a SoundTouch system and want to explore your upgrade options, we can help guide you toward a modern solution like Sonos, which offers better support, compatibility, and features designed for today’s streaming world.
