Can I Stream Two Different Channels from the Same Music Service on My Sonos System at the Same Time?

We’re often asked a version of this question, especially in homes with multiple Sonos zones: “If one person is listening to their favorite Pandora station in one room, can someone else listen to a different Pandora station in another room at the same time?”
The short answer is no—not with a single account.
Why This Happens
Sonos (like most whole-home audio systems) treats each music service account as a single source. That means if you’re logged into Pandora with one account, Sonos can only play one Pandora stream at a time, regardless of how many rooms or speakers you have.
So if Pandora is already playing in one zone, it can’t play a different Pandora station in another zone simultaneously using the same account.
What You Can Do
You can absolutely play different music services at the same time in different zones. For example: Pandora playing in the Kitchen, Spotify playing on the Patio. Because Sonos treats each music service as a separate source, this works perfectly without any extra setup.
The Simple Workaround for the Same Service
If you want to play the same service (like Pandora) in multiple zones at the same time with different music: Add a second Pandora account to your Sonos system, Sonos will recognize it as a separate source. Each account can then stream independently in different rooms
The Bottom Line
One account = one stream
Multiple accounts = multiple streams
Different services = no problem at all
