As part of Bose’s announcement regarding the end of the SoundTouch music streaming platform effective February 18, 2026, many Bose Lifestyle system owners have asked what this means for their home theater setup — especially those that include SoundTouch streaming capability.
Here’s what you can expect:
🔹 What Will Stop Working
On February 18, 2026, the SoundTouch app and streaming functions will no longer operate. Specifically:
You will no longer be able to stream internet music services (such as Pandora, Spotify, or Amazon Music) through the SoundTouch app.
If your Lifestyle system is linked to other SoundTouch zones, grouping and synchronized playback across rooms will no longer be available.
🔹 What Will Still Work
Your Lifestyle system will continue to function perfectly for TV audio and other connected components.
The surround sound, inputs, and TV operation will remain unchanged.
You can still play sound from your cable box, streaming device, or Blu-ray player through the Lifestyle console.
Some models may allow Bluetooth streaming from your phone or tablet, but only to a single system at a time.
🔹 Recommended Solutions
If you want to restore full streaming and multi-room functionality, consider upgrading to Sonos, which offers:
A full range of home theater and multi-room solutions
The ability to integrate your TV, music, and streaming services into one easy-to-use app
Reliable wireless control from any phone or tablet
Depending on your room layout, a Sonos Arc Ultra Soundbar, Sub, and Era 300 surround speakers can replace your existing Lifestyle system while improving performance and simplifying operation.
