As Bose prepares to discontinue the SoundTouch music streaming platform on February 18, 2026, many owners of the popular SoundTouch 10, 20, and 30 speakers are asking what this change means — and what options they have moving forward.
Here’s what you need to know:
🔹 What Will Stop Working
After February 18, 2026, the SoundTouch app will no longer function, and with it:
All music streaming services accessed through the SoundTouch platform (Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music, etc.) will no longer play.
Multi-room grouping across SoundTouch zones will be disabled.
Any presets that rely on online music sources will stop working.
🔹 What Will Still Work
Your SoundTouch speakers will continue to operate in limited ways, depending on the model:
Bluetooth: If your SoundTouch speaker includes Bluetooth, you can still stream music directly from your phone, tablet, or computer. (Note: Bluetooth can only stream to one speaker at a time.)
Aux input: You can continue to use the auxiliary input to connect an external source such as a TV, turntable, or another music device.
FM radio (for models with tuners): Local radio playback will still function normally.
🔹 Recommended Solutions
If you want to restore full streaming functionality and multi-room capability, consider transitioning to Sonos. With Sonos, you’ll enjoy:
Access to over 100 streaming services
Seamless multi-room playback
Voice control, app-based operation, and automatic updates.
Many customers choose to start with the Sonos Era 100 or Era 300 speakers, which provide superior sound quality and the convenience of wireless control through the Sonos app.
