This week, we spoke with a client who had purchased a new TV but couldn't hear the sound from the streaming video apps built into his new TV through his older Bose Lifestyle system. Depending on the age of the Bose Lifestyle system, this issue may be correctable.
If your Bose system has an HDMI ARC connection, ensure that the Bose ARC connection is linked to the TV's ARC input. Once this connection is established, select "TV" on your Bose remote when playing streaming videos from the TV.
If your Bose system does not have an HDMI ARC connection but does have a digital input, connect the TV's digital/optical output to the Bose Lifestyle's digital/optical input. Again, when streaming videos, select "TV" on the Bose remote.
If your Bose Lifestyle console lacks both an HDMI ARC and a digital/optical connection, you won't be able to play the streaming video audio through the Bose Lifestyle system unless your TV has an analog (red & white) output. If your new TV does have an analog output, connect the TV's analog output to an available analog input on the Bose Lifestyle console. When playing streaming videos, select the source corresponding to the connected analog input on the Bose remote.
