Why We Don’t Install Used Equipment

Since Bose has stopped offering Soundtouch products such as Soundtouch amplifiers, Soundtouch Soundbars, and Soundtouch adapters, we are asked more frequently why we won’t install used equipment purchased online. We understand our client’s frustration not being able to expand their existing Bose Soundtouch systems. These client’s often find used Soundtouch products online and want us to install these products. The reason we decline is that, in the event there is a problem with the used equipment, we can’t help our clients. We have no recourse to return the defective product and there is always the possibility that the defective product could damage other existing components of the audio system. We have experienced in the past a situation where we have gone to the client’s home and installed a used Bose amplifier only to find the used amplifier is defective. The result for the client is that they have purchased a defective amplifier, paid for the installation, and still have a system that doesn’t work.
