With the Bose SoundTouch app shutting down on May 6, 2026, many clients are asking whether their Bose Lifestyle home theater system will continue to function.

The answer is two-fold:

TV Audio – No ChangeYour Bose Lifestyle system will continue to work normally for TV audio. You’ll still be able to watch TV and enjoy sound just as you do today.

Music Streaming – ImpactedThe end of SoundTouch will directly affect your system’s music streaming capabilities. Once the SoundTouch app is discontinued on May 6:

  • Streaming music through the SoundTouch app will no longer be available

  • Grouping multiple SoundTouch systems will no longer be possible

  • Certain features and services may stop working over time

  • Bluetooth playback will still function on supported devices, but only to one speaker or amplifier at a time and within short range of your phone or tablet

  • Apple AirPlay may continue to work on select devices, depending on your current setup

Important Note:There will be no further updates to the SoundTouch platform. Without updates, your system will no longer receive security or software updates, so it’s important to use it on a secure, private network.
