Will my builder’s stereo pre-wires work with the new Bose Soundtouch SA-5 amplifiers?

Last we, we discussed builder’s home theater pre-wires and the new Bose Lifestyle systems. This week let’s review stereo or music room pre-wires. As with home theater pre-wires, many will work with the new Bose Soundtouch SA-5 amplifiers. These new amplifiers will require an individual 2-conductor speaker wire from each speaker to the amplifier location with minimum 18-gauge speaker wire. It is recommended that if you have 3 or more Soundtouch devices in your home that the amplifiers are wired with Ethernet cables to your router. Since the Bose SA-5 amplifiers are not designed and will not work with in wall volume controls or in wall control pads, confirm that your speaker wires are “home runs” which means direct and uninterrupted between the speaker and amplifier.
