What is the Difference between Bose Soundtouch Speakers and Bose Smart Speakers?

Clients have asked what is the difference between Bose Soundtouch speakers and Bose Smart speakers. There are a couple of significant differences to consider when selecting between the two product lines. The first is the Alexa control. With the Smart speaker products, Alexa control is built into the product. With the Soundtouch products, control is through an external Alexa device using the Bose Alexa skill set. The 2ndconsideration, a larger one, is the number of available Smart speaker products. For music, there is only one tabletop Smart speaker. For video, there are 2 Smart Speaker Soundbars. There are no Smart Speaker amplifiers which would be required for outdoor or in wall/in-ceiling speakers. Also, there are no Smart Speaker Home Theater Surround Sound systems. The Soundtouch product line offers more product options including Soundtouch amplifiers and Home Theater surround systems. Smart Speakers and Soundtouch speakers use different apps and cannot be mixed and matched in to a whole house system.
