What are the differences between the Bose Home Theater systems?

During In Home Consultations, the question that always comes up is what is the difference between the Bose Home Theater systems? Simply put, the only difference is the speakers and the resulting sound quality. To re-cap, Bose offers three 5.1 home theater surround systems, Lifestyle 600, Lifestyle BIV, and the Lifestyle 650. Please note, the Lifestyle BIV system is only available through Bose certified dealers. With all three systems, the Bose console and powered bass speaker are the same. Again, the difference is the speakers. The Lifestyle 600 system comes with the direct-reflecting Jewel cube speakers and retails for $2,999.95. The Bose BIV system comes with the In-Wall Adapt IQ speaker and retails for $3,499.95. This system is great for those that don’t want to see speakers hanging on the wall. The Lifestyle 650 system comes with the new Bose 360 Omni-Jewel speaker and a 21” center speaker. The Lifestyle 650 system retails for $3,999.95. As to the sound quality, the Lifestyle 600 and Lifestyle BIV system use direct-reflecting technology and sound nearly identical. With the Bose 360 Omni-Jewel speakers, the Lifestyle 650 delivers a more spacious sound.
