One of my Outdoor speakers isn’t working?

This week a client called and said 1 of his 2 outdoors speakers wasn’t working and what can he try? 99% of the time, there are 3 things that can cause this issue, bad speaker, bad amp, or bad speaker wire. Here is a couple of quick steps to try to identify the cause of the problem. First, switch speakers. If the non-working speaker still doesn’t work when switched with the working speaker, you probably have a defective speaker. If the non-working speaker starts to work when switched with the working speaker, move on to the next step. First, put the speakers back in their original locations. At the amplifier, switch speaker cables, put the left speaker wire on the right output and the right speaker cable on the left output. Now check the speakers. If the non-working speaker is now working and the working speaker isn’t working, you probably have a bad amplifier. If the same speaker isn’t working, you probably have a defective speaker wire.
